Good Afternoon all SARSAV members.

SARSAV has been approached by Huskie Atheltics and the Uof S to provide volunteers to do event support duties for their home games in Saskatoon for the 2023 and 2024 season - schedule below.

The SARSAV board met June 2nd and approved initial participation for the next 3 games and will re-assess based on feedback received.

Some of you may have heard about this through your chapter as SARSAV informed the chapters nearest the event in our process to gauge interest from our membership.

This is an excellent opportunity to assist communtiy, raise the public profile of SARSAV, and potentially recruit members as well as build partnerships.

Pre - training will be required and be available online ~ 3 hr one time web based session - link provided to registerd attendees.

SARSAV members do not need to be searcher trained to assist. This is open to support members who are interested.

You must have obtained a Criminal Record Check w/ VS, First Aid certification and should have ICS 100.

Though this opportunity would be mainly for chapters closest to Saskatoon- due to it being non reimbursed. It is open to ALL SARSAV members.

SARSAV can often cover costs for mileage and lodging for memebrs to attend the SARSAV training or meetings - in person... this would offset costs related to travel for the event support.

For example: Sept 9th is the SARSAV quarterly meeting from 1000 to 1300. If you come out for the game assist and stay for the meeting we can cover you - due to the meeting.

There will be no mileage coverage, lodging or meals unless for another SARSAV funded event.

Financial Contribution to SARSAV will be made by Uof S and your SAR team will receive a portion of this based on their member participation through the season.

Game schedule will published in Volunteer Rescue a few weeks ahead. Please register for the games you are able to attend.

Register ONLY if you can commit to attend. If you do not register you will not be able to attend, as we must confirm the attendance prior to the event.

The roles and responsibilities will be that of a Professional, Personalble, observer to document and observe and report during the event. This is not security and members will not be enforcing, confronting, or bag checking. We will not be making demands of people.

You may provide minor first aid - if needed - but it is not your primary duty.

Full procedures will be communicated seprately to those who register.

To give you an idea of the structure...SARSAV Members will report to one team lead who is UofS staff and they will send response such as police, Uof S staff, medical support to area of need.

Radios will be provided by UofS.

Attire is SAR orange/ uniform outerwear sutable for the weather conditions.

Number of Volunteers needed:

Football games 10 to 15 people
